Friday, May 12, 4-6 pm // Bike Skills Rodeo at Bounty & Soul
Come out to Bounty & Soul Tailgate Market at Charles D Owen Middle School Parking Lot (730 Old Hwy 70, Swannanoa, NC) for a fun time learning and practicing bike skills. We'll have volunteers to help guide kiddos through different skills, bicycle checkups, and cool free stuff. If you don't have a bike, we'll have a few you can borrow to learn, and if you don't have a helmet we'll GIVE YOU ONE!

Saturday, May 13, 9 am // Social Ride with Velo Girl Rides
Come out and ride a free social bike ride with Velo Girl Rides as part of Black Mountain's Strive Commuter Week. An easy pace and a well vetted route makes this one perfect for someone just starting to get into road biking. The ride meets at Town Square Park st 9am for the 11-15 mile ride.

Saturday and Sunday, May 13 - 14 // #MoveItMom Bike Giveaway
Is mom on the move this weekend? Post a photo of mom or your family walking, riding, or enjoying exercise with hashtag #MoveItMom and you're entered to win a FREE BIKE from WNC Bicycle Dealers' Association. Walk your greenways, ride your bike lanes, or play in your local park, but steer clear of cars. Post your photo to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, and we'll handle the rest. A randomly-selected winner will be announced via @StiveWeek on Facebook on Monday, May, 15.

Wednesday, May 17, 4:30-6pm // Bike Mechanics 101 at Epic Cycles
Tune up your bike for spring rides with a basic mechanics session from the good folks at Epic Cycles (102 Sutton Ave., Black Mountain). Bring your questions and be ready to learn some maintenance and quick fixes that might one day save the day.
